Can anyone confirm that we are a supporting class at Belleville on July 20th for the World of Outlaw Late Models?

Lets see in my opinion (this is just mine) this time maybe they should try to pay us a $2500.00 purse so that our whole class gets 1/4 of what the winner in the late models will get by himself. That is around the total our group paid to go race last year so I don't feel this should be a problem. I don't know how many spectators fit in them grandstands but with a packed house at, I believe it was $25.00 p/p that is a lot of money in the promoters hands. What's bad is after last years race a relative to one of our racers mentioned to Nate and I and everyone else standing around we should get so pretty good money. He raced there earlier in the year at a normal race (not WoO)on the same inside track with a hornet type truck and walked away with 350.00 for winning the race. He about crapped his pants when we each got handed $50.00.

Now not to start arguments or anything but sometimes it gets old listening to some people on here tell me its ALL about the fun not the money, then you go and say on the poll the rising gas prices will affect your race schedule. It wasn't just a few it was 58% of the poll. Mine, just to let you know was it will not affect my schedule. Just don't forget, that is with me from Great Bend which is at least twice the drive compared to 85% of the jayhusker racers.

OK! Back to getting ready for racing. See you all at the play days or if not the race at beloit.

Yes. Scott was contacted by Marty Boyer and he gave me Marty's number. But before I could ask around Jayhusker about it to see what our racer's were wanting if we went back, Marty ended up having a stroke and I haven't pursued it any farther. The two shows that they are looking for the 600s as a support class are the June 15th with the NCRA 360 sprints, and the July 20th race with the WoO late models. As Chad was saying, last year for the late model show we paid 35 to get in to race and got paid back 50. If there was any crew at all it was a losing deal for sure. I just wanted to talk to people before I committed anything to them. I think the 360 race would probably only be 20 or 25 dollar pit passes so there the 50 wouldn't be as bad a deal. You would only lose about what you would lose on a normal night. I am going to try to find someone to contact at belleville and see what we can hash out Give me your input.

Thanks,
Neil Lucking

The only thing about all this is, I felt it would be a great sport to take the family to and get them started into racing. So now if I want to take my family to a race it cost me at least $80.00 to get in the gate, let alone the races where it is more. I am just having a problem being called a supporting class for a larger class when we don't even get all of our pit pass money back let alone anything from the promoter to put into it to make us want to come back more. For a single person it might be ok but for most of us we got family and help at every race that we pay to get in.

Just speaking my mind, Chad Boone

I think running with the WoO is excellent exposure for some of our younger drivers and for our organization as a whole. I know the cost sucks, what if we just ask them for a standard payout like $70 to $80 per car and just give that money to each car regardless of finish? At least that way you know going in what you'll get no matter what.

I don't feel it is right to have everyone get the same pay. I personally would rather get paid more for winning which is a reward for having your car setup perfectly. If I get last give me less that is the way it should be.

Has it ever been attempted to ask local businesses where the race is if they would like to be the sponsor of the night for say $75.00 and split that up to pay to the winner in each class as a bonus. It doesn't have to be cash if a part store wants to give some thing away to the winners get a boxs of rags or gojo or something. I personally with my business give speakers ($48.00 a pair) and other items to car clubs needing prizes for winners at local car shows.

Just another idea of how to make racing feel a little more rewarding if you do have your car dialed in.

Now as far as the WoO goes they make plenty of money they should be able to at least give us our money back from the gate and honestly they make enough to chip in a little extra for helping them put on a show. Maybe the reason they are wanting us is because they know we ran last time and they banked off of it, and they wouldn't be able to do that with ANY other type or race cars. I raced quads indoors at monster truck shows and made 5 times the money I did at belleville last year and it cost me half to get in and this was years ago. The worst part is some didn't have near the crowd that belleville had and we still made plenty of money.
