Championship Race

It would be nice to see, but the way the season ended last year it might be kinda tough.. ( not sure what happened?)

That would be great if it would happen. One of the tracks would have to step up to the plate now get that organized.

Suggestion:

Shorten season - use Labor Day weekend as a Championship Year End Race.

With people really getting busy with school items this is becoming a very good stopping point for seasons at tracks.

Hastings and Waverly are now ending seasons prior to or on this date for regular point shows.

I guess I'm not getting the purpose of having a championship race? I thought that most racing leagues give points for how racers finish throughout the season, and then the most consistently high finishing racer wins the championship.

Are you sugguesting that you do away with the points system and leave it all up to one race. The "Championship Race". If we did that, then theoretically any driver from anywhere in the country could be our league champion by winning one race. Seems strange to me.

So what would be the point of the championship race?

I was thinking with a championship race we could at least honor the winners of each class at the race track . That gives sponsors and the fans an idea to see who is doing what. I know with the 600's the point was really tight going into the last race that never happened.Keep the point for the year and just crown the champion at the track.

what we mean by a championship race is a race at the end of the season that at the end of the night we can bring out the car and driver who won the points for the year not a one race deal to decide who wins whatever class. it would be nice to see that so the public can see who won each class at the end of the year.

Oh, a trophy presentation after the last race of the year. I think the fans would enjoy that.

I think it would be a good idea to bring out the points winners at the end of the final race for some fan appreciation, But hold off on Championship trophys or I'm afraid the banquet would be even smaller yet smaller. Just my thoughts.
